Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive in Rome, Italy

  Welcome to Rome! At 5 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions, and leave the hotel for a special welcome dinner with wine at one of Rome鈥檚 lively restaurants.
• Day 2 : Rome

  Enjoy Globus鈥� unique guided sightseeing, including inside visits to all highlights of religious and ancient Rome: the VATICAN MUSEUMS and SISTINE CHAPEL with Michelangelo鈥檚 ceiling paintings and The Last Judgment, monumental ST. PETER鈥橲 SQUARE and BASILICA to admire Michelangelo鈥檚 Piet脿, the amazing COLOSSEUM, and the ROMAN FORUM, where Roman legions marched in triumph. To make the most of your stay, join our optional walking tour, and see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and other sites and squares of medieval Rome made famous in the movie Angels & Demons.
• Day 3 : Rome - Orvieto - Assisi

  Stop in Orvieto, perched high atop a volcanic rock. Access, denied to many a would-be conqueror through the ages, is easy for you. Time to browse through tempting shops in the lanes off Piazza del Duomo, and to visit the fabulous gothic CATHEDRAL with its San Brizio Chapel. [LF] Taste local pastries in Caff猫 Montanucci, a historic pasticceria (bakery) for more than 100 years, before continuing to Assisi for your overnight stay. Your guided walking tour includes visits to ST. CLARE鈥橲 CHURCH and ST. FRANCIS鈥� BASILICA, the hub of a religious order devoted to the ideals of humility, forgiveness, simplicity, and love for all God鈥檚 creatures.
• Day 4 : Assisi - Florence - Padua

  In Florence, 鈥淐radle of the Renaissance,鈥� follow your Local Guide on a walking tour. Visit the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS to admire Michelangelo鈥檚 celebrated David. Marvel at the magnificent marble cathedral, Giotto鈥檚 Bell Tower, the Baptistry鈥檚 heavy bronze 鈥淕ate of Paradise,鈥� and sculpture-studded SIGNORIA SQUARE. Continue through the Apennine Mountains and the flat Po area to Padua for an orientation of St. Anthony鈥檚 city and your overnight stay.
• Day 5 : Padua Excursion to Venice

  A short drive brings you to Venice. Enter in style by PRIVATE BOAT and meet your Local Guide. Highlights of your walking tour are ST. MARK鈥橲 SQUARE and the byzantine BASILICA, lavish DOGES鈥� PALACE and the BRIDGE OF SIGHS. Also watch a skilled GLASSBLOWER fashion delicate objects in an age-old traditional manner. Afterwards, enjoy Venice at your own pace or join an optional cruise to the charming island of Burano.
• Day 6 : Padua - Verona - Milan

  Visit Verona, medieval setting of Shakespeare鈥檚 Romeo and Juliet. Take pictures of Juliet鈥檚 balcony and rub the shining breast on her statue for good luck. Continue to the Arena, an incredibly well-preserved pink marble Roman amphitheater, where gladiators used to fight. Built in the 1st century AD, it is now the magical venue for world-famous opera performances. Then, on to the dynamic city of Milan, where you鈥檒l enjoy [LF] a visit to the MUSEUM of the famous La Scala Opera House, and a walk to the glass-domed GALLERIA and the magnificent gothic Duomo.
• Day 7 : Milan Excursion to Lake Como

  Lake Como is regarded as one of Europe鈥檚 most beautiful lakes and has attracted many aristocrats and famous people to come and live there in one of the many villas that line the lakeshore. [LF] Enjoy a BOAT RIDE and visit picturesque Bellagio, the 鈥淧earl of Lake Como鈥� and already popular as a destination in Roman times. This evening, back in Milan, [LF] a special farewell risotto dinner with wine awaits you at Calafuria Unione restaurant.
• Day 8 : Milan

  Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.
