Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive in Rome, Italy.

  Welcome to Rome! At 5 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a special welcome dinner with wine at one of Rome鈥檚 lively restaurants.
• Day 2 : Rome.

  Enjoy Globus鈥� unique guided sightseeing, including inside visits to all highlights of religious and ancient Rome: the VATICAN MUSEUMS and SISTINE CHAPEL with Michelangelo鈥檚 ceiling paintings and The Last Judgment, monumental ST. PETER鈥橲 SQUARE and BASILICA to admire Michelangelo鈥檚 Piet脿, the amazing COLOSSEUM, and the ROMAN FORUM, where Roman legions marched in triumph. To make the most of your stay, join our optional walking tour, and see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and other sites and squares made famous in the movie Angels & Demons.
• Day 3 : Rome - Pisa - Florence

• Day 4 : Florence

  Follow your Local Guide to the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS and see Michelangelo鈥檚 David. Admire the magnificent cathedral, Giotto鈥檚 Bell Tower, the Baptistry鈥檚 鈥淕ate of Paradise,鈥� and sculpture-studded SIGNORIA SQUARE, and see Ponte Vecchio. To enhance your stay, an optional excursion is available to San Gimignano, Italy鈥檚 most picturesque medieval town.
• Day 5 : Florence - Lugano, Switzerland - Lake Maggiore, Italy

  North across the Apennine hills and through the flat Po area to the Swiss border. In Lugano, enjoy a leisurely break to stroll along the spectacular lake and on Via Nassa, or sip an espresso on Piazza Riforma. Back to Italy for your stay in elegant Stresa on beautiful Lake Maggiore.
• Day 6 : Lake Maggiore. Boat Trip to Isola Dei Pescatori.

  A leisurely morning with the chance to join an optional excursion to the baroque palace and peacock gardens of enchanting Isola Bella. Later, join an exciting [LF] BOAT CRUISE to ISOLA DEI PESCATORI, where dinner with local specialties at La Pescheria awaits you.
• Day 7 : Lake Maggiore - Milan - Venice Island

  Stop in Milan, the commercial capital of Italy. [LF] Visit the MUSEUM of La Scala Opera House, then, enjoy a walk to the glass-domed GALLERIA and the gothic Duomo. Continue to romantic Venice, and enter in style by PRIVATE BOAT. Maybe an optional gondola ride tonight.
• Day 8 : Venice Island.

  Highlights of your guided walking tour are ST. MARK鈥橲 SQUARE and the byzantine BASILICA, lavish DOGES鈥� PALACE and the BRIDGE OF SIGHS. Then, watch a skilled GLASSBLOWER fashion delicate objects in an age-old traditional manner. A wonderful optional excursion is available to colorful Burano Island.
• Day 9 : Venice Island - Padua - Assisi

  In Padua, visit ST. ANTHONY鈥橲 BASILICA, then walk to the Piazza delle Erbe and [LF] enjoy a cappuccino at the popular Pedrocchi Caf茅. Arrive in peaceful Assisi, where your Local Guide takes you for a visit to ST. CLARE鈥橲 CHURCH and ST. FRANCIS鈥� BASILICA, built on top of his tomb.
• Day 10 : Assisi - Sorrento

  Leave the province of Umbria and turn south to the charming, bayside resort of Sorrento. Time for shopping and an optional excursion to the Amalfi Coast and Positano.
• Day 11 : Sorrento. Excursion to Capri.

  Speed across the bay by JETFOIL to the Isle of Capri. Ride the FUNICULAR to Capri village for a guided visit of this pretty town. Free time to explore the little shops on the piazzetta before returning to Sorrento. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
• Day 12 : Sorrento - Pompei - Rome

  Stop for a guided visit of POMPEII, the Roman city both destroyed and preserved by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. This evening, back in the 鈥淓ternal City,鈥� a special farewell dinner with wine and opera entertainment awaits you at La Carovana restaurant as a proper way to say, 鈥淎rrivederci, Roma!鈥�.
• Day 13 : Rome

  Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.
